PALS (Practice, Activity & Leisure Scheme) at HD3 Fitness Centre

HD3 Fitness Centre is a satellite centre for the Kirklees Exercise Referral Scheme ie PALS. The scheme aims to support and encourage less active people in the local area who want to make a difference to their own health and quality of life by becoming more active. This  authority-wide scheme is referred to as PALS (or the “Practice, Activity & Leisure Scheme”).

Here at HD3 Fitness Centre, we have two qualified PALS practitioners who deliver the PALS scheme to local people. We use our facilities and our qualified staff, Simon and Sam, to run classes and individual rehabilitation courses for people who have been referred to us by their GPs to take part in group and individual activity programmes. Our PALS programmes, run in conjunction with Kirklees Council and NHS, are for 45 weeks.

After the 45 weeks have been completed, here, at HD3 Fitness Centre, we continue to support the PALS members by running a “PALS – Moving On” scheme, allowing clients to continue to develop their health and fitness beyond 45 weeks.
