***New classes for 2018***

We have a number of new classes, instructors and times for our class timetable starting January 2018.

Have a look at our timetable on the Classes Tab and please read the information below:

We are delighted to welcome Isabel Kelly to the Fitness Team who will be delivering Strong by Zumba on Tuesdays at 7.30pm and Zumba on Thursdays at 7.30pm.

We are adding another Kettlercise class on Wednesdays at 7.20pm – this will cater for those of you who cannot make the earlier 5.30pm class on Thursdays. We are delighted that the lovely Holly will be taking both of these classes. The Sunday Kettlercise has changed and will now be a Tabata Mix class at 9.35am, delivered by Ruth.

We are delighted to have gained the services of Sapphire who will now deliver Yoga on Mondays at 11am. Her first class will be on Monday 8th January.

And finally on Sundays, a new class starting directly after Spin, at 9.35am. Tabata Mix is a conditioning class where sets of exercises (cardio, strength and core) are done for 20 seconds with 10 seconds rest. After a set of 8 exercises you get a minute rest and then ‘off we go again’!

Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor, Adam Ryder gains a Semi-Pro contract!

Adam, our resident PT, Class Teacher and Fitness Instructor has been signed on a two year contract with Keighley Cougars Rugby League Squad. After breaking his leg in early Autumn playing for Underbank Rangers, Adam has made a remarkable recovery (due to determination and hard work in the gym!) and is in top form again! Keighley Cougars saw their opportunity and quickly signed Adam for 2 years!

Well done Adam, we are all really proud of you.

Adam works every Monday to Friday at HD3 Fitness Centre and delivers a number of classes.

New Running Trails for all abilities

The winter debris – branches, twigs, beech nuts etc – has been cleared away and the original running trail has been ‘strimmed’. It is ready to use, albeit in a new form. But now there is a choice:

a 1 km course (a mixture of woodland trails ands more ‘open’ running, down the edge of the farthest pitches)

a 1 mile course (an extension to the 1 km course which adds additional grass running along another of the lower pitches ) and

a 2.5 km course (which extends the 1 mile course by adding in even more grassy running, around the uppermost pitch).

On Sunday, 19 April 2015, the Huddersfield Marathon again starts from the Huddersfield YMCA Sports Grounds. HD3 Fitness Centre staff will again lead the ‘warm up’. In addition, there is ‘Fun Run’ which is based on one of the trails described above. Get yourself signed up!

Nordic Walkers brave Arctic conditions!

nordic-nicolaThe Nordic Walking Group, led by Linda and HD3 Fitness Centre’s instructor Nicola, didn’t miss out on their Wednesday hike despite the snowy conditions. The group has a weekly meet for a local hike but also plans on running monthly trips to destinations further afield. Currently there are two groups, one fast, one less fast, so there’s something for everyone. And, there’s hot drinks and cake waiting at the finish. For further details, call in at the Fitness Centre for more information.

IMPROVEMENTS to the WOODLAND TRAIL

We’ve made a few improvements to the Woodland Trail this week. Firstly, there are markers to indicate clearly the route to be taken. And secondly, we’ve drained the boggy section down at the farthest corner of the playing fields, so no more wet feet this winter. Also, our resident personal trainer, Simon, has broken the 5 minute lap time this summer, so now it’s down to you!
